SYSTEMS ENGINEERING

What is Systems Engineering?

Systems engineering is a discipline based upon systems thinking. For JSL, it is the study of the design/development, management, operation and maintenance of complex systems. At JSL we provide Naval Architecture Services and Marine Engineering as well as Ship Design, Combat Systems Engineering, Modernization Analysis and Directed Energy Research and Development. With all of these services, we take a measured approach to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, thus keeping us grounded in good systems thinking.

Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering

    • These two fundamental areas combine our engineering design skills, technology, and design concepts into a complete solution that directly affects the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the naval operations we support.

Combat Systems Engineering

    • We provide integration, design, development, testing, and sustainment of naval weapons systems and government assets to ensure optimal mission success of our maritime warfighters.

Life Cycle Engineering

    • Our Life Cycle Engineering Services provide our clients the ability to assess and correct potential errors before they occur by evaluating the complete life cycle of a system or process.  These services provide valuable insight to our clients on how to analyze existing processes and implement changes and improvements accordingly.

Engineering Reviews and Assessments

    • Engineering reviews are a key part of Systems Engineering Services where we meet directly with our clients to discuss projects and design problems with an eye to compromise, find solutions, and avoid future mistakes.  Our reviews and assessments are very thorough, with an emphasis on following the correct procedures and proving designs are both technically  and logically correct.
